A man has been charged in court with threatening to throw his partner and their baby off a balcony, in a case that prosecutors are treating as serious domestic violence. The incident allegedly occurred at the couple’s residence, where an argument escalated to the point that the accused made direct threats against both the woman and the infant. Police were called to the scene after receiving a report, and officers intervened to ensure the immediate safety of the victims before placing the man under arrest.

In court, the prosecution outlined the gravity of the allegations, stressing that threats involving a child elevate the risk and severity of the offence. The woman and baby were not physically harmed, but the court heard testimony about the fear and distress caused by the incident. The magistrate noted the vulnerability of the victims and the duty of the state to provide protection in domestic settings where violence or intimidation is alleged.

The accused was charged with domestic violence offences and making threats to cause harm, and the court is considering bail conditions that would prevent any contact with the partner and child while proceedings continue. Social services have also been notified to assess the welfare of the baby and offer support to the mother. The case has been adjourned for further evidence to be gathered, with the court reiterating that allegations of this nature are treated with utmost seriousness due to the potential risk to life.
