Mohamed Ali Ahmed Elmushraty, popularly known as Lilu King, a 32-year-old Libyan national and Paceville entrepreneur, has been granted bail for the third time, sparking controversy. Despite the Attorney General’s office appealing the bail decision, citing repeated breaches of bail conditions, risk of reoffending, and his criminal record, the court released him on bail against a €40,000 deposit. The court warned that his freedom would be immediately revoked if he approached any prosecution witness.
Lilu King’s legal troubles began when he was accused of breaking a man’s arm and violating the terms of bail set in three previous cases. He was remanded in custody in October 2023 but was granted bail again. The court’s decision to grant bail for the third time has raised questions about the justice system’s ability to hold influential individuals accountable. Lilu King is not only facing assault charges but is also embroiled in separate proceedings linked to money laundering, tax evasion, organized crime, and drug trafficking .
