Recently, Queen Mary University of London held an instructional seminar on breast cancer treatment with a varied crowd of medical practitioners, students, and members of the general public. The Action for Breast Cancer Foundation and Gozo General Hospital’s Breast Care Team worked together to produce the event.
The workshop included a number of prominent specialists in the area giving keynote presentations. Reflecting the progressively combined character of breast cancer treatment, consultant breast surgeon Elaine Borg, radiologist Lara Sammut, and health psychologist Danica Cassar each spoke on their particular fields. The presenters examined how patient-centered care must result from threefold—surgery, diagnostic imaging, and psychological support.
Participants in informal networking sessions and panel debates also had chances for professional exchange and collective learning. The dynamic participation during the event showed not just a great degree of interest but also a larger dedication to ongoing enhancement of patient outcomes.
Esther Sant, the president of the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation, officially inaugurated the event; coordination was under breast care nurse Josianne Bicker at Gozo General Hospital. Designed to raise awareness and foster cooperation, the seminar finally reminded participants that treatment of breast cancer calls for a multidisciplinary approach anchored in both clinical knowledge and compassion.
