Malta Fashion Week 2025 has officially begun, bringing together international guests, local fashion enthusiasts, and key cultural figures in a celebration of culture, innovation, and Maltese heritage. The event, now in its 25th year, showcases the country’s rich cultural landscape and thriving tourism sector. Day 1 of the fashion extravaganza featured three distinct and captivating fashion shows, setting the tone for a week of creativity and style.
The first runway show of the night featured beloved Maltese menswear brand Gagliardi, unveiling its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “The Sweet Summer”. This collection showcased lightweight tailoring, soft silhouettes, and the Mediterranean’s iconic linen, reimagined in rich hues of indigo, terracotta, and sage green. The show was attended by notable figures, including the Mayor of Floriana, Mr. Nigel Holland, and the Mayor of Valletta, Mr. Olaf McKay, who officially inaugurated Malta Fashion Week 2025 with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Other highlights from Day 1 included Captain’s Cut’s “Minsuga” collection, which blended traditional Maltese craftsmanship with hand-worked leather, and Ivory & Co. The festivities continued into the night with the official Malta Fashion Week After-Party, supported by Campari, featuring music by DJ David Grech Urpani. The event is being held at Pjazza Tritoni, Valletta, from July 7-10, 2025, and promises to be an unforgettable experience for fashion enthusiasts.
