A diver has raised concerns about the safety of Ċirkewwa, a popular diving spot in Malta, after experiencing strong currents that made it difficult to navigate. The diver is now calling for warning signs to be installed to alert others of the potential dangers. Ċirkewwa is known for its stunning underwater landscapes and marine life, but its location at the northern tip of Malta makes it prone to rough seas and strong currents.
The area is home to several dive sites, including the Rozi Tugboat and P29 Patrol Boat wrecks, which are popular among divers. However, the unpredictable sea conditions have led to concerns about safety, with one diver comparing the sea to being able to “swallow cars”. The Malta Tourism Authority and diving schools are emphasizing safety precautions, but some feel more needs to be done to warn visitors of the risks.
