Science in the City is making a vibrant return to Valletta this year with not one but two festivals dedicated to bringing science closer to families and children.

The popular event, which has become a highlight of Malta’s cultural and educational calendar, will transform parts of the capital into interactive hubs where visitors can explore scientific concepts through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and creative performances. Organisers said this year’s edition is designed to be more engaging than ever, with a special focus on making science accessible and fun for all ages.

Children and families will have the opportunity to meet researchers, take part in experiments, and discover how science influences everyday life, from technology and health to the environment and space. The programme will also include storytelling, art installations, and workshops that blend science with creativity, encouraging young minds to ask questions and think critically.

Officials said the decision to host two festivals reflects growing public interest and the desire to reach a broader audience across different days. The events are expected to attract thousands of visitors, further cementing Science in the City’s role as a platform for learning, discovery, and community engagement in the heart of Valletta.
