Juventus have officially banned 10 Torino supporters from attending any football events organized by the club after incidents of vandalism and misconduct during the Derby della Mole at the Allianz Stadium on 9 November 2024. The club invoked its “Codice di Gradimento” under the Juventus Code of Conduct following the Serie A fixture, in which police used the stadium’s state-of-the-art video surveillance system to identify away fans responsible for causing structural damage to the away section. According to Juventus, the 10 supporters damaged several seats inside the visitors’ area, leading to direct intervention by law enforcement who located and identified those involved. The measure prohibits the individuals from accessing any matches staged by Juventus, effectively serving as a 10-match away ban tied to the club’s own events and reflecting a broader zero-tolerance approach to fan disorder.
This is not the first time Juventus have applied the Code of Conduct to visiting supporters. The club previously enforced similar sanctions after a Serie A match against Roma at the Allianz Stadium on 30 December 2023. The bans were confirmed in an official statement and come amid heightened tensions surrounding the Turin derby, with Juventus and Torino meeting again the following Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino for the reverse fixture of the season. Alongside the seat damage, Juventus separately identified and banned four individuals in the East and North stands who repeatedly mimed the gesture of an aeroplane towards the away section, a reference to the 1949 Superga tragedy that claimed the lives of the Grande Torino squad.
Juventus stressed that the Allianz Stadium’s Panomera multifocal security cameras were crucial in locating those responsible, and said it acted in collaboration with police to ensure swift identification. The club reiterated that it strongly condemns any manifestation of contempt and discrimination, adding that there is no place for such gestures on or off the pitch within any of the club’s ecosystems. While the bans are issued by Juventus and apply to its own fixtures, Italian authorities have also taken separate disciplinary action in recent seasons for derby-related incidents, including lifetime bans and long-term stadium prohibitions. The measures underscore Serie A’s increasing reliance on surveillance technology and club-level sanctions to address fan misconduct and protect stadium infrastructure during high-risk matches.
