Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula One world champion, is questioning his future in the sport after a disappointing Japanese Grand Prix. The Dutch driver finished eighth in Suzuka, struggling with the new regulations that prioritize energy management over driver skill. Verstappen expressed his frustration, stating he’s “not enjoying the whole formula” and is considering retirement at the end of the 2026 season. “I’m thinking about everything inside this paddock,” he said. “Privately, I’m very happy, but you also wait for 24 races… and then you just think about is it worth it?” Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull runs until 2028, but he’s reportedly considering an escape clause.
