Malta’s Carnival celebrations have been hit by bad weather, with the grand defilé in St Anne Street, Floriana, and the evening programme in St George’s Square, Valletta, cancelled due to strong winds. The decision was made by Festivals Malta and civil authorities, prioritizing public safety over the festivities. The Carnival floats, which were set to be paraded, will remain parked at St James Ditch until around 9:30 pm, when winds are expected to subside, before being transported back to warehouses.
