David Casa, a Maltese politician and Member of the European Parliament, is set to negotiate the European Parliament’s position on the multi-billion European Social Fund. As the rapporteur, Casa has already reached a deal on the €90 billion European Social Fund Plus, which aims to address unemployment, improve training, and support vulnerable groups. The agreement has been endorsed by the 27 EU governments and the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, and is now awaiting approval by the European Parliament’s plenary session.
Casa’s role is crucial in shaping the EU’s social policies, and his work on the European Social Fund Plus has been widely recognized. He has been instrumental in securing funding for initiatives that support employment, education, and social inclusion, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
