Spanish singer Julio Iglesias is facing allegations of sexual assault and harassment from two former employees who worked at his Caribbean residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. The women, a domestic worker and a physiotherapist, claim they were pressured into having sex with Iglesias and subjected to physical and verbal abuse in 2021. One woman, identified as Rebeca, said she felt “like an object, like a slave” and was forced into sexual encounters almost every night. The other woman, Laura, alleged Iglesias kissed and touched her inappropriately without consent.

The allegations were revealed in a joint investigation by Univision and (link unavailable), which involved contacting around 15 women who worked for Iglesias. The Spanish High Court has opened a preliminary investigation into the allegations, and a complaint was filed on January 5. Iglesias, 82, has not publicly responded to the allegations, and his record label, Sony, declined to comment.
