The latest release of Jeffrey Epstein’s files has reignited scrutiny of Britain’s ex-prince Andrew, with newly uncovered emails suggesting he discussed arranging meetings with “inappropriate friends” with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice. The emails, dated 2001 and 2002, were sent from an account using the alias “The Invisible Man” and signing off as “A,” believed to be Andrew. In one message, the writer asks Maxwell, “Have you found me some new inappropriate friends?” while staying at Balmoral, the British royal family’s summer residence in Scotland.

The files also include a disturbing photograph of Andrew lying across the laps of five women, with Maxwell standing nearby, taken at Sandringham Palace. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, but the release of these documents has led to renewed calls for him to cooperate with investigations. He has surrendered his gun license and was stripped of his royal titles in November 2025.

The controversy surrounding Andrew’s association with Epstein and Maxwell has damaged the British monarchy’s reputation, with many questioning how Epstein and his associates gained access to elite royal circles. The files are part of a larger release of nearly 30,000 pages of documents made public by the US Justice Department under a transparency law.
