Egypt’s coach Hossam Hassan is confident that Mohamed Salah is completely focused on the Africa Cup of Nations, despite the turmoil surrounding his future at Liverpool. Salah, who has been left out of Liverpool’s starting lineup in recent matches, is determined to lead Egypt to a record-extending eighth AFCON title in Morocco. Hassan praised Salah’s high morale in training, saying he’s “as if he were just starting out with the national team”.
The 33-year-old forward has been instrumental in Egypt’s qualification for the World Cup and is eager to add an AFCON trophy to his collection. Despite being a runner-up in 2017 and 2022, Salah is determined to finally lift the title. Hassan believes Salah’s past experiences will help him excel in the tournament, saying “Whenever Salah’s performances dip with his club, he regains his strength with the national team and becomes even better”.
