Marseille’s coach, Roberto De Zerbi, is singing Mason Greenwood’s praises, saying the English striker has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or. Greenwood, 24, has been on fire since joining Marseille last summer, scoring 35 goals and providing nine assists in 56 appearances. De Zerbi thinks Greenwood’s natural talent, combined with his work ethic, makes him a strong contender for the prestigious award.
“He has tremendous potential. I don’t see many players of this calibre in Europe. For me, he has Ballon d’Or potential,” De Zerbi said. While De Zerbi acknowledges Greenwood’s impressive skills, he also notes areas for improvement, like consistency and defensive work. “I always want more, and I’d like him to be more consistent,” he said. Greenwood’s impressive stats and De Zerbi’s confidence make him a player to watch.
