GP Borg Holdings has submitted a revised proposal to restore the Grade 2 scheduled Knights’ period building, Preti House, and construct a modern 5-star hotel with 29 guest rooms, a spa, indoor pool, and wine bar. The developers have made efforts to address previous concerns, replacing the original glass apertures with traditional balconies and removing the rooftop pool.
The project has received positive recommendations from the case officer, pending a final decision by the Planning Board. The restoration aims to harmonize with Valletta’s UNESCO World Heritage status while introducing luxury accommodation. The hotel’s design has been carefully considered to minimize its impact on the city’s skyline and surrounding residential area.
