Atalanta has parted ways with head coach Ivan Juric following a dismal start to the 2025/26 Serie A season. The decision comes after a 3-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Sassuolo, which left the Bergamo squad languishing in 13th place with just two wins from 11 matches. Juric, who replaced Gian Piero Gasperini in June, had struggled to replicate the success of his predecessor, managing only four wins in 15 matches across all competitions.

The Croatian coach’s tenure was marked by a seven-match winless streak, including six consecutive draws followed by back-to-back losses. His final game in charge was the humiliating 3-0 loss to Sassuolo, the team’s worst home defeat by such a margin since December 2021. Reports suggest that Juric’s heated exchange with Ademola Lookman during a Champions League match against Marseille may have contributed to the club’s decision.

Atalanta has reportedly begun talks with former Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino as Juric’s potential successor. The team will face defending champion Napoli on November 22, providing a crucial opportunity for their new coach to make an impact.
