After supposedly shooting a weapon during a dispute in Paola on Sunday night, a 33-year-old man was arrested.
Police stated that the event occurred around 9 p.m. in Melita Street, where bullet fragments were found later. No injuries were noted.
Investigators claim that the suspect, identified as Melvin Debono, also known as “IlQuws,” engaged in a quarrel with three other guys just before supposedly firing the pistol. After negotiations, he briefly sought cover in his home, then gave himself over to police. At the scene, the weapon was found.
Police verified that Magistrate Monica Galea had been notified and that an investigation was in progress. Investigations are still in progress; officers are looking for another male thought to have been involved in the fight.
Previously granted bail at least six times in relation to additional purported crimes, Debono has Earlier this year, he was arrested after a fast chase that resulted in a police rapid intervention vehicle striking a parked automobile.
