Between Father Alex Scerri and MTV Chairman Gavin Gulia

Father Alex Scerri from the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel expressed initial concerns about the scheduling conflict between the feast and Isle of MTV, worrying about how attendees would access the capital city and celebrate the feast. However, after collaborative meetings with the Malta Tourism Authority, he is now confident that feast-goers will be able to enter and participate in the event efficiently and in an organized manner. MTA Chairman Gavin Gulia emphasized, “We are mindful of the proximity of the events and are working to ensure a smooth logistics plan, allowing both events to proceed peacefully.” The historic Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, dating back to the 14th century, will commence at 7pm, while Isle of MTV, dubbed Europe’s largest free music festival, will take place from 3pm to nearly midnight, having drawn around 30,000 attendees last year.
