‘Wicked’ composer Stephen Schwartz brings Broadway hits to Malta
Get ready for a magical evening of music on September 29 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre as Maltese superstars Joseph Calleja, Ira Rothko, and Destiny join Broadway greats to perform Stephen Schwartz’s enchanting hits.

Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz, known for the second best-selling musical of all time, Wicked, will perform hits from his show with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ian McGregor. Producers have announced that Maltese popular stars Joseph Calleja, Ira Rothko, and Destiny will join the cast to celebrate Schwartz’s music.

Additionally, Broadway stars Matthew James Thomas, Kelly Rene Fuller, and Michael McCauley-Rose have also joined the lineup. LA Philharmonic. Stephen Schwartz: Defying Gravity: Live in Concert will be taking place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on September 29th. Schwartz is the author of international hits such as “When You Believe,” sung by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston in the animated film “The Prince of Egypt,” a collaboration between Schwartz and Hans Zimmer. Schwartz’s other film collaborations include Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas, Out There from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and many works with Alan Menken, including the popular live-action/animated musical crossovers Enchanted and Unenchanted for Walt Disney Pictures.Live in Concert promises a truly unique symphonic celebration of the most iconic popular musical songs of our time.
