The Israeli military has identified the remains of four deceased hostages returned by Hamas, including a Nepalese student, Bipin Joshi, and an Israeli national, Guy Iluz. The hostages were returned as part of a ceasefire deal brokered by US President Donald Trump. In exchange, Israel handed over the bodies of 45 Palestinians to the Gaza Strip, with 15 Palestinians’ bodies being returned for every deceased Israeli hostage.
The Palestinian Red Crescent received the bodies of 45 martyrs at the Nasser Medical Centre in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip. The exchange is part of the agreement aimed at ending the Gaza war. However, Palestinian militants are still holding the bodies of 24 hostages, which are expected to be returned under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The released hostages, all of whom were captives for over two years, are slowly recovering in hospitals after being reunited with their families. Medical professionals are providing them with necessary treatment, including blood tests and examinations. The hostages had experienced severe physical and mental trauma during their captivity.
