A friendly football tournament was held on Boxing Day, featuring Maltese Members of Parliament (MPs) competing against each other in aid of L-Istrina, Malta’s largest annual charity event. The tournament, which aimed to raise funds for those in need, saw the MPs struggle on the pitch, but ultimately succeed in collecting a significant amount for charity. Despite their best efforts, the MPs’ football skills were not quite on par with their political prowess, leading to some entertaining and lighthearted moments on the pitch.
The tournament was a fun and unique way for the MPs to give back to their community, while also showcasing their sporting spirit. The event was well-attended, with many spectators turning out to cheer on their favorite MPs and support a good cause. In the end, the tournament raised an impressive €1,300 for L-Istrina, which will go towards supporting those in need in Malta. The event was a heartwarming display of camaraderie and generosity, and a testament to the power of sport to bring people together for a good cause.
