Malta Ranks as 8th best country in the world to move digital nomads

According to experts at William Russell, Malta has ranked third in the list of best countries for digital nomads to relocate to. The number of people working digitally from anywhere in the world, rather than being confined to a fixed workplace environment, is growing as the internet expands faster than ever. Around 40 million digital nomads will be in 2024. A number of criteria, e.g. maximum duration of stay, shall be considered when assessing the list of countries

With a digital nomad’s score of 3.47, Over 18,600 Google searches for Malta Digital Nomadic Visas have been carried out in the past year. The country is a hub for industries such as gaming and gambling and welcomes both freelance and contracted workers to relocate. With the possibility of extending their stays up to three years, transient travelers may remain in Malta for a period of at least 12 months.

Eligibility to apply for digital nomad Visa in Malta

The process of applying for digital nomad visas in Malta is straightforward, but applicants must meet specific requirements to qualify. In order to be eligible for the Nomad Residence Permit, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Work Remotely: You should work remotely as an employee , freelancer, business owner of a company or have clients located outside of Malta.
  • Earn €32,400 per year from your remote job, you must earn the minimum income requirement.
